ChristianPF’s Top 20 Christian Financial Websites

February 16, 2009 · Filed Under Blog Links · Comments

Bob over at ChristianPF recently created a post where he detailed his Top 20 Christian Financial Websites and I am thrilled to say that BFN actually made the list! This is a really big deal for me because the ChristianPF blog is one of my biggest blogging inspirations.

When I first started getting serious about understanding and improving my financial situation, I spent a lot of time reading various blogs and books.  The two blogs that initially caught my attention and introduced me to blogging were The Simple Dollar and ChristianPF . I spent a lot of time reading posts from these sites and I was amazed at how much useful information the authors shared.  They introduced me to blogging as the powerful platform that it is.

ChristianPF especially was my biggest inspiration when I first got the crazy idea of creating my own personal finance blog.  Bob created so many useful and Biblically sound posts and has a great knack for sharing Biblical wisdom in a practical way.  When I decided to create this blog, I decided to aim high and hope to do as good of a job as he did in creating useful resources for his readers.

With all that being said, this list that Bob has created is a great resource for anyone hoping to increase their financial intelligence.  I am familiar with a number of sites mentioned on the list, like Bible Money Matters and Gather Little By Little , but am thrilled that there are so new resources for me to check out!  I urge you to check the ChristianPF list out for yourself.

Thanks for making up a list with so many resources, Bob, and thanks for including BFN on it!

    Hey John!

Congrats on getting listed on CPF’s top 20 list, that is how I found your blog. Actually it was funny because I was searching the Internet that day for a list of biblically based personal finance websites, and just so happened to stumble upon CPF’s post! I was very happy to find that article because it is leading me to many other great Christian based personal finance sites.

I too have recently started a christian PF site of my own called DebtFreeAdventure. Check it out from the link in my name on this comment, and let me know what you think. I started the blog over the holiday season and have already experienced many blessings from the Lord!

I also run a personal blog that has been around much longer at eJabs.com.

I have subscribed to your blog and will most likely be adding you to my blogroll for Christian Personal Finance once I get around to shoring that up.

I look forward to communicating with you. I prayerfully trust the Lord will use our blogs to help each other and to help many others in need.

    In Christ,

    Matt the DebtFREEK!

Hi! My name is Karen. This may be an inconvenience but please understand that the LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart, financial need; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. I am trying to find a resume person who can help us. I am a 36 year old self-supporting single mom and sole financial support of my two kids age 12 and 9. I need help to pay my gas, water and electric bill.I lost my job in August and still i am out of work. My smaller child is sick with asthma. And she will get sicker as it gets colder. I don’t know what to do. Water bill was $55, Gas $70 and now my electricity bill is around $31, (we are billed 6 times a year) bill (water, gas and electricity) averages $156. I can’t understand how gas, electricity and water prices are going up so quickly and yet the official inflation rate doesn’t reflect it. I live in a small town without a lot of programs.

Please help us to be able to stay in this house, so we can continue having a normal life again.

If you can not help in cash or you can help with Visa GiftCards , i can provide you my billing account number to payoff. i will appreciate to receive the heads up advice from you.

Please buy me a cup of coffee to quench my thirsty With PayPal you can send money using your checking account or credit card to neverdepartingfromthemosthigh@yahoo.com. Once you have a PayPal account set up, you can receive money or send someone else money via e-mail. It’s simple, quick, and reliable!

My primary email address neverdepartingfromthemosthigh AT yahoo DOT com in paypal is an old email address that i always have access to, although it is the same email address I use to sign into my yahoo and paypal account with?

    @Karen,
Thanks for the comment. It sounds like you are a in a terribly tight and unfortunate spot right now. I am sorry that you are having to go through all of that.

Unfortunately, I am not sure how much financial help you will get by posting your paypal address on various websites and asking strangers to send you money. I think you will get a lot farther by looking for help locally – starting with your home church. Most churches have a Benevolence Ministry that is created to help out people in similar situations to yours.

Also, have you requested assistance from your utility providers? I know that my utility companies (electric and gas at least) solicit small regular donations from customers and these donations are redirected to help other customers that are in dire financial need and can not afford their bills. I would suggest you contact your utility providers directly to see if you can get some relief from them. Also, for your younger child’s asthma, I think that some pharmaceutical companies offer similar programs and that most doctor’s offices are willing to provide free samples of medications if they have them.

I think that using various PF blogs to get some information to help you reduce spending and find extra sources of income is a good place to start. For direct financial support, however, my guess is that your efforts will be more fruitful if you start in your local community.
